Hello guys! I have an Apogee HD water block and recently tried to install it. However I have to change out the mounting kit to the LGA 2011. I did so but I did not realize that the springs were different. When trying to install the block I put a lot of pressure to get the screws on the back plate. After a lot of trying I finally couldn't get it to work so I ordered another 2011 mounting kit.

However I am worried if I may have damaged the CPU or motherboard? Everything looks fine but I'm still paranoid.

More about : tightened heatsink

if there is no sign of damage, that is one of the best things, you can always try to booting your PC with another cooler and see if there is any damage, but by the sounds of it, your fine. Make sure the screw mountings aren't threaded, and your fine.
