I recently installed new drivers for my ASUS X550LB‑NH52 Windows 8 using iobit's driver booster utility. After everything being fine I notice that when i leave my system idle come back, move my mouse and BSOD. After a power off the the screen blinks from a dim black to a lit black and sometime I can see the cursor. The only way I get back into windows is if I remove the battery an remove all usb devices or a combination of both. I don't want to do a restore because games seem to be running better now with the updates. I will do a memory test later but is there a way someone can tell what is exactly causing the crashes?

Okay I ran whocrashed and I got this:

On Mon 4/28/2014 11:20:15 AM GMT your computer crashed
crash dump file: C:\Windows\Minidump\042814-54250-01.dmp
This was probably caused by the following module: watchdog.sys (watchdog+0x255D)
Bugcheck code: 0x113 (0x19, 0x2, 0x10DE, 0x1292)
Error: VIDEO_DXGKRNL_FATAL_ERROR
file path: C:\Windows\system32\drivers\watchdog.sys
product: Microsoft® Windows® Operating System
company: Microsoft Corporation
description: Watchdog Driver

And this one:

On Mon 4/28/2014 11:20:15 AM GMT your computer crashed
crash dump file: C:\Windows\memory.dmp
This was probably caused by the following module: nvlddmkm.sys (nvlddmkm+0x1429CA)
Bugcheck code: 0x113 (0x19, 0x2, 0x10DE, 0x1292)
Error: VIDEO_DXGKRNL_FATAL_ERROR
file path: C:\Windows\system32\drivers\nvlddmkm.sys
product: NVIDIA Windows Kernel Mode Driver, Version 335.23
company: NVIDIA Corporation

Conclusion:

3 crash dumps have been found and analyzed. A third party driver has been identified to be causing system crashes on your computer. It is strongly suggested that you check for updates for these drivers on their company websites. Click on the links below to search with Google for updates for these drivers:

nvlddmkm.sys (NVIDIA Windows Kernel Mode Driver, Version 335.23 , NVIDIA Corporation)

So i guess its the nvidia driver but what is the watchdog thing about? I'm using the latest nvidia drivers btw and the GPU is only active for programs I specify.

WatchDog.sys is a vital system file used by the Microsoft DOS and operating systems, basically every Windows computer has this file, it contains codes for the hardware device drivers in your computer to execute properly, and that explains why WatchDog.sys error has such big impact over the system.

If you come across WatchDog.sys error, it usually indicates something wrong happened to the WatchDog.sys file, for instants the file was removed accidentally, damaged or become corrupt, this error can also be caused by the Inter Processor Interrupt (IPI) mechanism, corrupt hardware drivers, registry problem, virus infection and more.

I would delete and completely remove nvidia driver(dont install over old one) then reinstall it and see if that helps
