Should i buy the R9 270X or R9 270

I have an AMD FX 6350
8gb ram
plan to game at max settings at 1080p as thats all my monitor can do.

Should i buy the R9 270x or just go with the R9 270 and overclock myself.

The cards i'm looking at are MSI. They seem to be essentially the same card with twin frozr 4s, with a factory overclock.

The 270X has more overclocking potential because of the extra power connector but the 270 can easily match its std clocks with a mild OC. So if that is your goal saving money and getting the 270 would make sense.

what BIOS limitations are there and how will they be a problem?

Most cards come with a BIOS limit to how much they can be overclocked. It is possible to circumvent it, but it can be somewhat complicated.
