CPU Temp question

I'm new to the build world and have a few questions about my first build. My components are,
intel i5 4670K 3.4 GHz quad CPU
Asrock z87 extreme4 motherboard
MSI Radeon R9 270 GPU
TX 750w corsair bronze power supply
all stock fans, corsair vengeance C70 case
Vizio 1080p HDTV

So I have an all cpu and gpu monitor in the background and I'm trying to be very aware of my temps. Playing borderlands 2 on the highest settings I get alerts that my cpu is hitting temps of 80 Celsius, however, my gpu is not. is this a temperature I should be worried about with my processor? Also is the fact the I'm hooked up to an HDTV contributing to the increased CPU output? Should I turn down the setting of the game to put less work on the GPU?

I've googled this and found many a thread on these forums regarding temps but there seems to be a lot of varying answers so I decided to put my exact specs up here. I appreciate any help I can get, thanks.

Solution
usually it does, i would pop off the cooler and see, and if there is thermal paste (there probably is) what color and consistency is it? if it is hard or like a thin layer of clay, get new stuff.
the tv is not contributing to the heat, and the gpu can go up to ~90c before it throttles. the cpu goes up to 85c before throttling, but if you are at stock speeds that is a little high. did you use thermal paste between the cpu and the heatsink?

So I followed neweggs how to build a PC video and went with intel's stock cpu fan and heatsink, I was under the impression that intel's fan came with a thermal paste already applied.

Yeah the thermal paste doesn't look that great, I'll buy some new stuff and try applying it, thanks for the help.
