Hi,

I was just using prime95 to stress test my system and see how hot my CPU actually got with the h80i cooling it. After ~4 minutes of testing Corsair Link showed this: http://gyazo.com/19aa246b98bb8e2f34d044ac995a2c47

The coolant temperature is actually 2C higher than the temperature of the CPU? I'm not sure I trust these temps.

The weird thing is, after the test ends, the CPU jumps to ~45C for a couple of seconds and then drops back to 30C.

My questions are:
Is Corsair Link most probably showing the wrong temperatures, and if so, what programs can I use to actually measure the temperature of the CPU (not the socket). I've tried RealTemp and it says that it doesn't support the 8350 (which puzzles me).

Thanks :)

Your cpu cooler can be hotter, not sure why though but mine is also hotter. I got the same cooler.
Temperatures looks great for prime95 so don't worry. You'll get lower temperatures in games.
Corsair link shows the right temperatures.

AMD Overdrive is good for monitoring the internal temps of the CPU.

The weird thing is though, in games such as War Thunder, the CPU temp appears to go as high as 50C

are you on stock clock? if so, that seems normal for prime 95.

as to why it goes up to 50c in games, that's odd. install another temp monitor like hardware monitor or coretemp and see what they show.

keep in mind during games, GPU's come into the mix.
also, is your liquid setup installed as exhaust or intake?

If you have that 770 powering 3 1080p monitors in an intense game, and your H80i setup as exhaust....
the inside of the case is going to get very warm from the GPU running at 100% for extended periods.. And your H80i is now using very warm air rising up from the GPU, to try and cool the CPU, instead of fresh air.

I bet if you mounted that H80 at the top/rear exhaust vent, but flipped it and mounted it as intake, then you'd be golden.
This is how i have my 120XL setup... so it's always getting fresh air to the CPU.

just buy a $10 magnetic dust cover for the back and you're set

That would make quite a lot of sense actually, it's set up as an exhaust - I never thought of that!

Thanks for the help! :)
