Hello everyone,

I just built a new computer recently with all new parts, after putting everything together I noticed the computer is not starting probably.

When I hit the power button, the computer initial turns on for 1 sec and shutdown, comes back on for another sec or two and then shut down again, after that it starts probably and boot to Windows successful. If I restart the computer it will go to power on/off cycle 2 times to get into Windows. I don't know if that's the issue with the mobo or power supply, I would be appreciated if someone can help me with that.

Note: After I boot into Windows successful, I can do whatever I want without losing power or freezing at all, I ran Prime95 for 5 hrs already, no problem detected and the temp never went over 50°C by using second option in Prime95. I overclock my FX-8350 to 4.6Ghz for a little bit extra performance, even reset to the default setting I still have the same problem.

System info:
CPU: AMD FX-8350
MOBO: Gigabyte 990FXA-UD3 Rev. 4
PSU: RAIDMAX 730SS
Memory: 2x8GB HyperX 1600Mhz
Hard drive:1xSSD, 2xHDD
Video: MSI 7870 HD
Cooling: Akust Larkooler SkyWater 330
Fan: 3x80 mm, 4x120 mm supplied by one Molex connector 4 pin

Thanks for all inputs.

I replaced the power supply to XFX Core Edition PRO650W, it didnt fix the the problem, still getting the same issue when power on, also the CPU clock was fluctuate from 4.6Ghz to 1.4Ghz all the time when running Prime95. I did a little more research, there was a lot of people had the same issue like me with this MOBO.

Getting Asus Sabertooth 990FX Rev2, problem solved, no more power on issue or fluctuate during Prime95 test, however I have another issue is raising up. The CPU Socket temp is very high during the test, it went to 74-75C for a hr running Prime95, and the diff between Core Temp and Socket Temp was 20C really concern me. Even when I'm on idle it has 15C diff. Take a look at the pics below for more detail about my setting.

Can I just ignore the Socket Temp, as long as my Core Temp is good?
