Hi All,

I'm not very experienced in the world of upgrading graphics cards as I'm worried I'll have an incompatible motherboard or I'll overload the power supply or something. What do you recommend on a relaxed budget between £150 - £200 from the current below specs?

(I play games like Dayz and currently get around 15 - 20 FPS if I'm lucky)

Motherboard: ASUSTeK Computer INC
- Model: M4N68T-M-LE-V2
- Chipset: NVIDIA GeForce 7025
- Southbride NVIDIA nForce 630a

Graphic Interface:
- Version: PCI-Express
- Link width: x16

CPU: AMD Athlon 2 x4 630

Memory: 8GB DDR3

Graphics card: ATI Radeon HD 5670

OS: Windows 7 64bit

Any further information needed, just let me know and I'll be happy to provide :)

Thanks for your help.

the GTX 750... it's literally 3x as powerful as your 5670, and produces very little heat and uses little energy.

it's also only $110 us... not sure what that'd be for you, but it's certainly well below your price range.

anything more powerful than this, and your CPU would be bottlenecking you... so no real point to spend much more

You shouldn't have to take your pc apart, just take the case door off and the PSU should have a label on it that will tell you the brand and model.

I also recommend the GTX 750 for your PC. It will be perfect for medium to high settings on all of the modern games. Expect the graphics to look like they do on the Xbox One and PS4 at those settings.

yeah, the 750 is a great card, and if you use multiple monitors are high resolution then the 750 Ti is great, only a little more expensive but a little faster and double the vram. if you can afford a better card though, then for sure make sure your psu can handle it.

Hi, been a while, thanks for your responses. I eventually got my PSU details. it's: Winpower 650W Standard Power Supply. Would the 750 work with that or would I need to upgrade?

Ok thanks, after searching online for the GeForce GTX 750, I've found that there's quite a few different manufacturers for the same card. (asus, palit, gigabyte). Any recommendations?

Yeah, I won't get chance to take my PC apart this evening, but I googled it as well and the specs were:

Molex - 4x
SATA - 2x
FDD - 1x
24Pin - 1x
4pin - 1x
6pin - n/a

So I guess it's the 750 or 750 Ti?

Ah right, the only reason I asked because an Amazon reviewer (quoted below) said it needed extra power. But this 2GB version would be ok for my PSU then? (sorry for asking questions twice, but I hate to part with my money unless I'm buying the right thing :))

"I bought 5 of these cards under the impression that they drew all of their power requirements directly from the PCIe lanes on the motherboard. But it turns out that only the 1GB model of this card will do this. The 2GB card requires additional PSU power. I intended to use powered risers with these cards but since PCIE power is required, the powered risers I bought are not necessary now. Still using them, but without the molex power connector attached."
