I have a GTX 670 and am going to soon buy an i5 4670k but I am undecided which motherboard to get.. I want these in it:
-Obviously supports the above two proiducts
-has atleast 5.1 surround sound support on it, though I do have a sound card if needs be..
-not be a micro ATX..
-cheap enough.. I'm a student.. :(

Also I need a CPU cooler and a case for it all! I dont care for the case to be honest, i just want one that fits everything inside perfectly and has good ventilation. Green LEDs prefered but if it'll save me money i dont mind.
I don't care for SLI support as its something I wont do, but I will oc my cpu in the future.
Thank you for your time!

http://pcpartpicker.com/part/asrock-motherboard-z87extreme4 great mobo for 1 or 2 graphics cards, and mild-moderate overclocking. also has 7.1 audio :D

http://pcpartpicker.com/part/cooler-master-cpu-cooler-rr212e20pkr2 great cooler for mild-moderate overclocks, keeps your cpu cool and quiet

http://pcpartpicker.com/part/apevia-case-xdreamer4gn not 100% sure if this is what you had in mind, but its great looking and comes with 4 fans, 2 of which are green led, you can get more green led fans if you want.

Asus's mainstream Z87 boards are really good like the $139 Z87-A. I've heard good things about the $118 MSI Z87-G43 too.

They support everything you require and offer pretty good overclockability to get the most out of your 4670k.

If you don't want to overclock consider getting a Xeon E3-1230v3 as it's the exact same as an i7-4770 but can't be overclocked and is the price of an i5-4670k.

A Hyper 212 EVO or some other cheap tower cooler will more than work for you, although it wouldn't support a super beefy overclock.

Thank you for the fast responce!
The MSI Z87-G43 does seem good to me, does what I want..
I thought Xeon's were made for servers and that, not for gaming desktops?
The Hyper 212 EVO is what I was looking at, as its been recommended to me a few times :)

Thats not a bad motherboard, is it worth the extra £16?
See above, I'll be getting that cooler.
I really like that case, shame its sold out on newegg! I'll have to look around thanks!

Xeon E3's are just rebranded consumer i7 without integrated graphics and a locked multiplier. There's no other difference other than they support a couple extra instructions and ECC memory--otherwise they're Core i7s.

yeah, the xeon E3-1230 v3 is an i7 4770 without the graphics, or a i5 4670 with hyperthreading and no graphics. that motherboard is a good one, i would recommend getting a mobo from asus, asrock, or gigabyte, as over the years msi has started making cheaper, lower quality boards that are known for vrm problems.

That is good to hear thank you both!
So i'm going to get an ASRock Z87 Extreme4 MB, Intel Xeon E3-1230v3 and the hypermaster 212 cooler :)
And try and find that case somewhere, and all this would work together perfectly with my GTX 670? :)
One last thing what PSU would be recommended for this.. I currently have a cheap 600w one and want to replace it incase it blows/dies on me..
Thank you for your help.

Sorry, I don't want to sound stupid or anything, I don't know much about hardware (more software kind-of-guy..) but I don't know what that is :(
I did a search and found this:

Is this the kind of thing you ment? The motherboard is cheap and does what I want it to do, I don't mind using my sound card again for my surround (probably better to do so anyway) but aslong as it will fit a Xeon E3-1230V3 and GTX 670 without limiting them in any way I'm happy :)

Sadly it's too expensive.. I'm looking for something around £80 at most, as my budget is around the £350 mark and the other parts are costing me £270.. :(
is there a cheaper one of the same type with like only one slot for a gpu for example? :(
