Hey everyone!

I'm getting a new PC soon and I'm going to buy a BenQ XL2420Z as my main monitor.

However, I'm also going to buy a second monitor.

The second monitor is NOT for games and will be to search the web, keep other windows, watch movies, etc.

I want a IPS monitor, 1080p resolution and either 23 or 24 inches in size.

What do you recommend me?

Personally, I'd go with the viewsonic. It's nearly bezzeless, has a nice design, and with be great for your needs.

I have the VN247H-P, it's a great cheap IPS, I have no complaints.

I've also had Viewsonic's before, and have no issues with them, but they design is usually ugly IMO.

If you want an expensive IPS, like an 8-bit or 10-bit panel, I would recommend going with Dell. But you will pay a hefty amount more than a cheap IPS panel from ASUS, Viewsonic, etc

If you want an 8-bit panel, the recommendation that Diox55 made is a good one. The PA248Q is a true 8-bit panel for a good price.

There is also a Dell U2413, which is a bit more expensive, but higher quality overall. As far as the picture goes, the difference is probably minor.

ASUS has been making some really great monitors the past few years, so personally I would go with the PA248Q and save yourself a bit of money.

Yeah they have. I was a cheap SOB and decided that for 15 bucks less I could get a better monitor. Back story, when I bought my Optiplex 755 (only 150 bucks) I needed a monitor as well. Well my impatient self decided it'd be better to spend 15 dollars less than wait 2-3 weeks for Amazon to restock and ship the Asus monitor. Avoid Hanns G, this monitor only wants to go full screen if I have it connected to a gpu..

I've checked the PA248Q, but it's 1920x1200 as well, and it's like +100€ than the Dell, if not more.

I think that one is a bit out of my budget.

The BenQ XL2420TE has an IPS screen so you will only need 1 screen

Hmm those euro prices are weird... it's only 290 US dollars here lol.

Depending on prices, the best option might just be getting a cheaper IPS panel that was recommended earlier. They still look good, and will look a bit better than the BenQ.

Do you think the Dell U2412M would be a good choice? It's 288€

I think you would be satisfied with it. It's a 6-bit panel but it uses A-FRC to mimic an 8-bit panel, so it should look really good.

However, I was just reading that some of the panels have a "yellow-ish tint" which makes me skeptical. I'm sure most people who order the panels get one that works properly, but it appears some people have received the panels with that issue. Example: http://i.imgur.com/56uWFAD.jpg
