Hey I'm thinking of getting the h100i for my rig(3570k, gtx 670) in my corsair 400r case. Im also thinking of getting better fans for the 100i but do not know if it will really make a difference. The fans im thinking of http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168.... So will these improve overclocking abilities, such as lowering temps and what not? Would it be better in pull or push? Will the fans matters? Everything really is targeted towards overclocking.
Thank you

I have the same cooler. The fans that come with it are pretty hard to beat. They have the best airflow to decibel ratio, and at max speed, they move a LOT of air. Keep in mind that any fan you have pressed up against a radiator like that starts to make a lot of noise after about 1300 RPM because of the air moving through the grill. I push the air from inside my case towards the outside (my gpu radiator does the same) and then i have another corsair sp120 fan sucking in cool air from the bottom of my case. This way i keep the hot air from the radiator out of the case and theres enough cool air coming in to keep the CPU nice and cold without having my fans spin faster than 1000 RMP.

With radiators, especially the H100i, you want to get good pressure-optimized fans, as opposed to strictly air flow. Corsair makes the SP-120s which are very pressure optimized, and the high-performance editions move a lot of air with a lot of pressure.

Comes in a 2-pack, with a much higher static pressure than the Cougar: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168...

I recommend pull, because it is easier to clean and you get the same temps as push. For fans, I recommend the Noctua NF-F12's (my personal favorite), silverstone AP123's (not pwm), and corsair SP120 quiet editions. Fans that are static pressure optimized are what you need.

So really push/pull do not matter as they both have similar stats and temps? Its just a matter of personal preference right? And as for the fans will the static pressure optimize make a big difference for cpu temperatures? I mean if they increase air flow and what not they are bond to have a temperature boost to the cpu but by how much? Is it really noticeable and worth it?

Yes the static pressure optimized fans make a big difference. Airflow fans can't move air though the small space of a radiator and the air will just bounce back off and around the fan. They do poorly at moving the air though tiny spaces but great for moving air through open spaces. Static pressure fans are made for moving air through tight spaces but are not reccomended for case fans. So both fans have their uses and perform poorly when not used right.

Keep in mind that the two fans that come with the H100i are static pressure fans. So this is how I'm getting the great results that I have is because I have a couple of smaller side case fans bringing in a bit of cool air and that 120 mm fan at the bottom isn't an SP fan, it's an AF fan to bring in a lot of air.
