Hey guys/gals,
I am currently in the process of building and pricing my first gaming computer. I have done a lot of research on parts that would fit my needs; mainly gaming, streaming video, surfing, and other daily tasks.
Even with all my research I would still like to get some more experienced builders advice. My GPU is the main question I have, the other parts I feel fit my needs...but still feel free to critique. My goal is to run games (BF4, AC4, League, Smite, etc.) at ultra to very high settings on a 2560 x 1440 central monitor, with two supporting monitors for surfing the web and such. Below is my build, let me know pros and cons from personal experience and any alternatives that might be helpful. Thanks for your input.

You can go for R9 290.. (the non-x)

http://pcpartpicker.com/part/powercolor-video-card-axr92904gbd5tdheoc

or for a choice..

http://pcpartpicker.com/parts/video-card/#qq=1&c=152

or you can pick any of these..

http://pcpartpicker.com/parts/video-card/#c=114,113,101,83,167,148,152,146

for a power supply, you will need about 750~800 watts (in case you want to SLI/Xfire in future)

Personally, you can go for this..

http://pcpartpicker.com/part/seasonic-power-supply-ss750km3

or choose any of these..

http://pcpartpicker.com/parts/power-supply/#W=700,850&m=11,51,71,39&e=4,3,2

Just avoid the Corsair CS and CX series.. :)

What would the difference in resolution and FPS be with the R9? Also you stated to stay away from CS & CX series power supply, do they burn out a lot? Thanks for the input!!!!!

Well, Just my opinion, the nVidia cards in the price range are 256 bit whereas the amd is 384 bits.. i.e. amd has more bandwidth than nvidia.. to put it in simpler terms, amd offers better hardware than nvidia at the same price..

here's why you will need more bandwidth in future because there are chances that gaming will go 4K and you don't want to upgrade again any time soon.. upto 1080p, 256bit is sufficient.. but 384 will be better.. just being future proof.. nothing else.. and it will run longer than the nvidia cards.. just my opinion and experience.. but remember, nvidia cards may offer lower hardware, but their drivers are better than amd's and that's why nvidia with lower hardware are able to match amd's beefier hardware outputs..

with PSUs.. the CS and CX are not of good quality.. or so what I have heard.. I use GS700.. and it's just sweet.. the fan turns on only when needed.. else stays shut.. so.. yeah.. It's not about them burning a lot.. but not of great quality what the others offers at the same price..
