Hey there!
The past few days I have been noticing a very annoying and sometimes frightening "POP" from my LEFT headset speakers.

I have a Razer Tiamat 7.1 Great headset, cording, surround the works.

What I mean by "Poping" is the LEFT speakers seem to Pop and Crack at the same time really loudly like the speaker itself is going to explode, not like a little "Pop" It actually scares me while I am playing games and such.

It doesn't seem to have a pattern as to when ti does it but when I move my head a certain way it seems to cause it to happen, this only started after I was cleanign up my cords and unplugged and replugged the headset in, ever since then I have been having this problem.

Any help is appreciated

Solution

Your internal cable is getting loose.... (in the wire there are 4-6 little wires that are for Left, Right and MIC. when the wire gets bent repeatedly in a single direction, some of the strands start to break/come loose and will: a) touch other wires causing poping sounds, or b) the sound in one...

1 try re-connecting it (maybe not plugged in all the way , 2 check the wire next to the headphone for kinks and creases, 3 is the wire streched taut when you plug it in (is the wire long enough to reach you from pc and still loose?).

I replugged the plugs in multiple times, twisting them into place to make sure it is not loose.
The cord is long, It is about 12 feet cord.

Kinks & Creases?

That was the reason I unplugged the cord whie tidying up the cord was always twisted and becoming hard to manage after doing that It began to make the noise.

I have not heard the Popping / static in the past 2-3 hours but I think it only happens while things are playing in the background which has not been happening since I am just browsing right now.

1. move along the wire bending it a bit until you find the problem spot. (temp solution: when you find the "sweet spot" so that there is no poping sound, tape it or ziptie it that way), (expert solution: open up the wire and reconnect the strands among themselves, and properly isolate them from eachother)
2 buy a new headset
