Wi-Fi Connectivity Problem

A few days ago, I noticed that my wireless network that always had 5 bars of signal dropped down to 2 bars, so I decided to disable the wireless LAN then re-enable it. However, I accidentally did this on my laptop and not on the desktop controlling the router, so I couldn't re-enable the Wifi without resetting the router. After resetting the router and restoring the previous password, I could not successfully reconnect to my wireless network from my laptop (Limited connection error). I was, however, able to access it without problem via my phone.

I managed to access my wireless again by uninstalling then reinstalling my network adapter, but the current problem is that my wifi connection will randomly disconnect. However, my wireless adapter does not seem to recognize this and does not have the 'no internet access' symbol next to the bars. Disconnections seem a lot more frequent when playing online games. Also, I realized that my maximum signal quality went from 54.0 to 72.0 mbps after my wifi started to work again on my laptop. When this happens I have to manually disconnect from my wireless network then reconnect to have the connection for a few more minutes.

I tried most of the things suggested by this forum and by other sources, such as system restore, the 'netsh' commands in command prompt and uninstalling and reinstalling my wireless adapter, but to no avail. Additionally, rather than getting 4-5 bars 100% of the time, I'm starting to only get 3-4 as of today. This is really confusing, as I don't know if it's the laptop's wireless adapter or my router that is the issue. My phone has no problems in terms of consistently being connected via my home wifi network, so I am guessing it is not the router's problem. The desktop computer is also always consistently connected at normal speed.

Has anyone else experienced this before and found a working solution, or is there something else I could possibly try? I'm sorry for the long post, but I am really confused about this situation.

Thank you very much in advance for your help!

TL;DR: The wifi on my laptop is disconnecting at random intervals, even though it says there's still internet access. I've tried most of the common methods to solve this, but to no avail.

Solution
Check for a driver update on the laptop for wireless and also the BIOS and check for a firmware update on the router. Turn off all wireless devices except for the laptop, and test it then.

You can always attach an ethernet cable to the router if you need to get into it's setup page, your desktop is not actually "controlling" the router, you can access the router setup with any device that has a compatible web browser.
