AMD FX 6300 OC Issues :O

Hey guys!

I'm new to overclocking and was able to reach an OC of 4.4GHz @ 1.440v!
The voltage went to 1.404 however when I ran Prime95. Max temps: 59.9 degrees Celsius. The Ghz and voltage does not fluctuate even when running Prime95. Also, it survived Prime95 (small ffts) for 30 mins. All the power savings settings are turned off in BIOS. FSB, Memory Speed, NB is all on auto. I only increased the multiplier. My mother board is the Gigabyte 97A-DS3P. I want to push it further, but the voltage and temperature is scaring me!

These are my stable overclocks:
- 4.2Ghz @ 1.380v
- 4.3Ghz @ 1.404v <--l
- 4.4Ghz @ 1.440v <--l Seems like a huge jump in voltage for the extra 100Mhz

Questions:
1) Are my temps fine?
2) Is my voltage safe?
3) Should I increase voltage?
4) Should I mix FSB and multiplier to reach a higher OC?
5) Do I have a bad chip or am I doing something wrong?
5) After I'm finished overclocking, what settings in the BIOS should I turn back on?

All answers will help me a lot! :D

If I were you, I would run Prime 95 for atleast 12 hours to make sure you've weeded out every last bit of possible CPU error. Also, the FX 6300 is supposed to be able to run up to 80 degrees celsius, however, I wouldn't be comfortable with that. 60 degrees C is just fine. I'm no overclocking expert but every piece of silicon is different, so no two overclocks will ever be the same. I wouldn't worry about the voltage jump if I were you. Just make sure you run prime 95 for like 12-48 hours to really weed out an errors. 4.4 GHz is a pretty ambitious clock for the 6300 if you ask me, and if you are still worried about the voltage, then I wouldn't go any higher with FSB and multiplier.

Hope this helps!

Thanks for the quick reply mate. I backed off a little bit to 4.3Ghz @ 1.404v, because 1.440v seems a bit high to me...anyways worker #6 stopped working after 45 mins on Prime95. I do not want to increase my Vcore higher than it already is so what should I do? I turned on Turbo Boost for up to 4.4Ghz to fix a problem I had. Basically, my computer turned on, then off, then on, then off, then on... so by doing this, it somehow now turns on once and for all! XD Also, the Turbo Boost thing means that it will go to 4.4Ghz max if it can. But Prime95 fails at the 45 minute mark regardless if I have it on or not.

Should I enable LLC? if so by how much? Will I get Voltage jumps? How high would my Voltage go if i did that? lol
Or should I decrease my overclock, which I do not want to do...Also, do you know the actual max voltage for this processor or is it also different for each one?
