I am building a new computer from scratch. I will be using the intel 4930k processor with the
MSI x79A-GD45 motherboard and Windows 7 Utlimate O/S. What would be the most efficient
graphics card with this setup? I'm open to a reasonable budget. Doesn't have to be the least
expensive. I do a lot of video editing.

Solution
find a video editing program that uses opencl/cuda acceleration from a radeon or geforce graphics card. you don't need a 4930k for video editing, as long as gpu acceleration is there, the gpu will do this job 5-20 times faster than the fastest cpu ever made. drop to a 4770k and get an r9-290 or a gtx780.
[strike]The i7 4930K is useless if you are making a gaming rig[/strike]. It's still overkill for video editing, unless you do it for work. What is the point of the PC, and get Windows 8.1 x64 instead of Win 7 Ultimate. It's cheaper and better. What's your budget?

I would assume that he already has a copy of win 7 ult thats why he using it any need to what you plan on doing with the PC if only really editng then also need to know what video editing applicaiton you plan on using as since some maybe work better on nvidia or AMD platform.
