I have recently built a gaming computer. All I need to do is install Windows 8 onto it. I downloaded an .iso version of it onto a disk and have been trying to install it by that way. My problem is that as soon as I get to the screen where it asks what drive to put Windows 8 on it says "Windows can't be installed on this drive." If I click show details it will say something about enabling the controller in the BIOS. When I try to create a partition it also has an error. I don't get the option to format the drive either. I'm just completely at a loss here. It's my first build and I am really anxious to start playing. Been waiting two weeks just trying to get this to work! Please help!

Specs:
Motherboard: Asus A88X-Pro
Hard drive: Western Digital WD10EZEX
APU: AMD A10-7850K 3.7GHz
Optical Drive: Asus DRW-24B1ST
RAM: G.Skill Ares Series 8GB (2x4GB) DDR3-2133

Assuming you have correctly created the boot DVD install...

When it boots from the DVD, what options are you presented with?
Advanced should show you whatever partitions are on that drive.
Select each, delete
You will be left with one large unallocated space
That is where Windows will install itself, creating what it needs.

I do this. It shows my drive it as "Drive 0 Unallocated Space 931.5GB"
It doesn't show any partitions or anything. It just confuses and frustrates me.

Then something is wrong with the target drive, or something is wrong with the install media.

What you have appears to be a standard 1TB HDD, plugged into the SATA 0 slot, completely unformatted.
Windows should be able to install to this.

Well that isn't good news. It isn't a problem where I need to install a drive or something? What can I do to fix this?

This is the screen I get and it won't let me do anything past this.

The Drive Options(Advanced) only shows an option to Delete, Format, and New. Delete and Format are both whited out and trying to create New has the error each time.
