I think my hard drive is failing but im not sure. The symptoms my desktop: takes forever to load, transfer rates are slow, games that constantly use a auto save fuction constantly slow down the computer and sometimes crashes the game, I have a couple instances where I had a program reinstall itself without any warning (himatchi) and another instance when I was going to write a paper in word and my computer informed me that it needed to install it, without me ever uninstalling it in the first place, the temperatures are good and SMART is telling me the drive is good, but if that’s true im not sure what is causing the slow transfer rates and load times, also I hear a slit clicking now and again but im not sure if its normal or not. The hard drive is a 1TB Seagate 7200.
I have run ccleaner and clean the registry and defraged the drive with little improvement. I don’t think the slow load times are do to programs running at start because according to ccleaner there is only 13 running at start.
