I was considering buying it on Steam but I'm afraid there won't be a lot of full server. Also, is multiplayer going down too because of Glu shutting down GameSpy? Help please!

I still play it, and there are plenty of players. Most servers are self owned, so simply use the server browser to find a full server, there are plenty of personal servers.
