Hi
Im looking at a 4k moniter in the next few months i currently have a pitcairn sapphire 7870 OC and was looking at getting a r9 270 to crossfire with it.
Would that bring me into range of gaming at 4k, say bf4? Or what single gfx card would play 4k

cheers

Solution
getting there, but it'll struggle a lot for sure, but it will lag if playing a game like BF4, especially 4x MSAA is a no-go.

Single GPU, Best to get a R9 290X Custom cooled model, or if money is short a R9 290. but for best performance get 2 later on, 3840x2160 is some ultra resolution for any modern GPU still.

From what i noticed not really. I have the Samsung U28D590 4K monitor for a couple of weeks now and all of the games i played benefitted a lot from 4K. They all support the resolution and become much sharper. I have the R9 290X driving it and it suffices. Can reach 60 FPS on all but the newest games on max settings. And for the newer games like BF4 it works well on high settings.
