The R9 290X Lightning is easily, the better choice, though the price should be much higher.
I honestly prefer the R9 290X because of the extra 1GB of Vram, wider memory bus, more cores and overall, better performance.
I own a R9 290X and I have no regret in recommending one to you, I have never found a game at 1080p that this titan struggles at, BF4 ultra 4X MSAA is easy 80+ FPS.
