HI,

This may be an odd question to ask, but I would rather ask and have a definite answer, than not ask at all, and may have to suffer later

I was wondering if you all can provide input on the placement of the desktop case. Should it be on the ground, or on the table?
Does the case design make a difference while trying to place the case?

I have a NZXT Phantom 530 case, and although, I can place it on my computer wooden desk, I find that placing on the ground, gives my 5.1 speakers and monitor a bit more space. However, is placing on the ground bad for the parts and case? I am worried about dust on the ground that might sweep inside the case through the vents at the bottom. Is it better suited to be on the table instead?

Thanks

Hi ashank12 ,
placement does not really matter as such , however if you wish to place your case on the ground and do not want a stand i recommend turning your psu upside down so the intake fan is inside the case rather than underneath , psu's are made so that this can work and the screw holes will still line up and then your psu will draw air from inside your case and not off the floor

If i do place the fan facing inside, then i run the risk of heating up my GPU, and have both GPU and power supply fan competing for air. Would putting in on the desk resolve that problem? Previously, it was sitting on the table, but given that it is a full tower case, Its takes a bit of space; so I decided to put in on the ground. My room is pretty small to place a stand underneath the case, as the case is right by the desk and touching the walls on the other side.
