Hello,
I recently purchased a Corsair HX850 and Sapphire R9 290 Tri-X.
I connected 24-pin ATX to mobo and 8-pin EPS to CPU but I accidentally connected 8-pin EPS to R9 290 Tri-x and turned on PC.
The HX850 made a clicking sound and PC won't turned on.
I later found out my error and everything now is working properly.
My question is, what was that clicking sound? Was it HX850 turning on one of its protection features?
I know normally if you did what I did, it would damage the GPU, but in this case, neither MOBO or the GPU turned on. So I am concerned if I have damaged GPU somehow (although testing shows it's running normally).
