does anyone know if this would be suitable as a monitor for my PS4 and my PC? (i would switch from one to the other).

(PS4 in the HDMI and PC in the VGA/DVI)

http://www.amazon.co.uk/Acer-S240HLBID-24-inch-Monitor-...

if it would be ok for the PS4 through the monitors HDMI port. would i be able to record the PS4 with my Elgato HD (when the patch is out)? ignore the PC also in the monitor, i would use my laptop to record. and in the title it says HDCP what does this mean? please help thanks

i just want to know if i could use the monitor for capturing PS4 gameplay.

Hi and welcome to the forums!

That monitor is ok, but Samsung tend to make the best monitors. I will suggest buying a Samsung S24D300HL, which is of a similar price to the one you listed but is by a much better supplier, it has both VGA and HDMI connection interface. This monitor is suitable for both PS4 and PC.

HDCP means, High-bandwidth Digital Content Protection.

yes, HDMI-HDMI will work. And it will work with Elgato HD capture also.

It should support both, no reason I can think of why it wouldnt.

Whether you can record footage from the HDMI cable has nothing to do with the monitor, and everything to do with your capture device. If your capture device is HDCP compliant, then your good to go right from the start, if not then you will have to strip the HDCP protection before feeding it into your capture device.
