Will a GTX 760 and power upgrade work with a Dell Vostro 270?

Hi

I'm trying to work out what reasonably powered graphics card I can put into a very unpowerful DELL office computer! The lower power unit seems like a must to replace, but assuming I can, will a double with full length card fit into the case / motherboard and work?

If not, can anyone offer the best alternative? Ideally NVIDIA Like a 750 Ti? I'm trying to make a small boy a cheapish gaming computer without starting from scratch!

Thanks.

Ben

Depending on the PSU you might be able to get away with out replacing the one you have, I think the GTX 750 Ti only uses like 60w of power and the min system req on Nvidia site is a 300w psu. The gtx 750 Ti is probably your best option... Assuming your budget for this is in the ~$150-$200 range.

Edit: Could you provide a bit more information about the computer? Hard to say what will fit and what won't without knowing the case / specs of the computer.

Hi Derza

Thanks for the feedback.

Here's the machine:

http://www.misco.co.uk/product/213797/Dell-Vostro-270-Desktop-PC-Intel-Core-i3-3240-4GB-1TB-DVDRW-Windows-8-Professional-64-1-Year-Warranty

It says it has a full height PCIe x16 slot but only a 300W power supply.

Even the 750 Ti states 400W for power usage (I presume to sit within a system where other stuff is pulling load)

There just seems a big performance difference between the GTX 760 and GTX 750 and was hoping for a little time before needing to upgrade!

Thanks again for any pointers.

Ben
