Is this RAM suitable for an ITX build?

Hi all,

I am looking to build a mini ITX PC and perhaps foolishly purchased some RAM, as it was going cheap, before really deciding on what other components I am going to get.

I bought this: Kingston HyperX Beast 8 GB 1600-24000 MHz CL9 DDR3 RAM

Is this memory going to be OK, would you say it is a good choice? I noticed that this is not low profile - am I asking for trouble and should I return it, or can I still use it (if it is good memory) by right choice of cooler, etc?

Thanks

Hi - that's the problem, I haven't chosen one! Can you help me select one?

I am looking for built-in wifi and will get a i5 Haswell, maybe a K series (but I currently have no real desire to overclock, not 100% sure that won't change a couple of years later).

Tony here ... thanks for that, both. Just to be clear, is that compatible with my RAM or does it depend on the choice of cooler?

I am so lost by all this, it amazes me how much detailed knowledge people on this forum have, and how easily you can roll off answers to a problem I could never fathom out!
