Im trying to use this ram to upgrade my Elitebook from 4GB to 6GB:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820231341

Im trying to use ONE of the original 2GB sticks and ONE Gskill 4GB that i bought from newegg

However, when i turn on the PC after upgrading, it shows the windows boot logo for about half a second and goes to windows error recovery screen where it gives me 2 options: "Start windows normally" and something along the lines of "try to repair PC"

When I put the original 2gb stick back in, everything works perfectly. The only thing google tells me is that ONLY low density RAM will work with this laptop. however i dont know how to tell if its low density or not?

Any help would be greatly appreciated, Thank you!

do you have 64 bit or 32 bit windows(both options came on that model)? if your running 32bit windows that's the issue there
have you tried it with just the 4gb (new ram installed) without the 2gb installed to see if it works?
have you tried swaping the 2 and 4 gb in the slots the other way?(sometimes the bigger stick has to be installed in one slot and the smaller one in the other)

I have 64 bit installed. I have not tried using the other slot since i have to remove the keyboard to get to it. I will try that tonight.
Thanks for your input!
