I'm rather confused about some of the laptop models these days, most notably the sharp divide I tend to see with 12.5 inch vs 13.3 inch laptops.
For a while I kept an eye open for a 13.3 or 14 inch laptop with some of the following stats:
- 256 GB
- 8 GB RAM
- i5/i7 Intel core
- Intel HD graphics
- Connecitivity: VGA, DisplayPort, HMDI
While there are indeed models that possess such requirements, it baffles me that there are plenty of 12.5 inch laptops available with just these specifications. What gives? Why is it so easy to find these components in 12.5 inch laptops often at prices comparable to 13.3 inch laptops? You'd think that with the extra space and more cooling opportunities such specifications are more readily found in 13.3 or 14 inch inch laptops.
That aside, has anyone recommendations on whether to pick 12.5 inch models or 13.3 inch models when selecting for good keyboard responsiveness? Is there a catch to all these components being stuffed into a smaller frame (e.g. does it run much hotter, (substantially) less battery life)?
