I just installed the most recent windows update. I am now noticing that my cursor is getting stuck when I transition between monitors unless I whip my mouse to the other screen very quickly.

How do I get this to be a smooth transition?

Your cursor is likely getting stuck on your main monitor due to having a higher res. Think of it like a big box and a small box connected, the two monitors are connected through a tunnel, in which the tunnel is as large as 1280x1024. If you try to move your cursor where you're still in a 1080p zone, it won't move over to the 1280x1024 monitor. Same thing happen with my 1440 and 1080p monitors. Hope that made sense.

I have the same problem. I only temp fix it until a full fix is know by restarting my pc. After restarting the PC it will go back to normal

I move it across the middle where both monitors have pixels available to move across. It is getting stuck on both sides of the transition.

Are you saying that it was part of the update and restarting will fix it?

I just experienced this same problem. I Started closing out of my programs to do a restart and i noticed the problem went away when i exited out of the windows 8 calculator. I believe the problem stems from the new bars that were implemented in the latest patch for the win8 Programs. If you move your mouse to the top of a Win8 program a bar will appear allowing you to close it or maximize it.

One simple thing to try first is:

1) Right click on the desktop area and choose the "Screen Resolution" menu item.

2) You will see the simulated images of the monitor locations, at the top of the window. You can drag this in different locations. It is really cool if you have a third monitor (triangle configuration).

3) Make sure the two main monitors, having the issue, are touching one another. I had my monitors separated and started having this issue. I put them together and BAM....issue fixed.
