1. Difference between intel core i3 motherboard & core 2 duo motherboard ? And
2. Please help to answer me that which motherboard is better " Gigabyte 8VM533-RZ HCL " OR " MERCURY PVM7 VER3.1 " and what type of motherboard they are ? They are dual core board or any other board.

different socket - the square shaped thing, you put your cpu in - it has many small holes and the holes must match the small pins on your processor.
c2d used socket 775 /if I remember correctly/
i3 use lga 1156 /first gen - xxx/, lga 1155 /2+3 gen - 2xxx, 3xxx/ and lga 1150 /4 gen - 4xxx/

gigabyte - is socket 478, so no, it was for the pentium 4 processors.
mercury - seems to be lga 775, so yes, that one is a match - that one will do.

but I would say, for the best result you should try to google the type of your processor to see what socket it is.
once you have the socket, look for the right motherboard.
