Hi.
I was thinking about getting the MSI R9 270 Graphics Card because it fit in budget and had fair specs.

Graphics Card - http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=8689489&csid=_61

The only problem I have right now is i can't tell what the power requirements like the type of wire or the amps needed are. I've spent some time searching but I can't seem to find the information. If someone could help I'd really appreciate it.
Thanks

"For a system using a single Radeon R9 270 graphics card AMD specifies a minimum of a 500 Watt or greater system power supply. The power supply should also have a maximum combined +12 Volt continuous current rating of 28 Amps or greater and have at least one 6-pin PCI Express supplementary power connectors.

Overclocking of the CPU and/or GPU(s) may require an additional increase to the maximum combined +12 Volt continuous current ratings, recommended above, to meet the increase in power required for the overclock. The additional amount required will depend on the magnitude of the overclock being attempted.

Edit: I copy pasted this to help you and it's not my info! :)

Edit-2: This PSU should be sufficient to run single R9 270(X)
