Bad case instructions!

Solution
Only thing you can do is run through that check list, and swap out known good parts one at a time until it fires up. Find a friend who doesn't mind loaning.

Thank you, this answered my question. There are built in standoffs. However, after completing assembly, the PC will not power on. I smelled something got hot and turned power back off. Now a wireless usb adapter for a mouse I was planning to use is not working...who knows what else. Hoping not the MOBO or processer! Pretty struck at this point!

the 4-pin 12v cable felt warm as well as the the mouse adapter. I also had a wireless network adapter plugged into another slot and it appears to still work.

That is a good idea. I won't have time to mess with it until Thursday evening so its a little frustrating but I will try reconnecting and reviewing to make sure everything is routed the correctly. Thank you.

I completely disassemble the entire computer and reassembled it...now has no power at all. Suspecting the power supply was faulty and hoping it did not damage my MOBO, CPU, HDD, optical drive, or case ports...it did fry the USB receiver for a cordless mouse/keyboard. Any thoughts?
