What's the best chipset for gaming

I'm looking to game on dayz minecraft etc on high to ultra settings does the chipset make a difference and what do you recommend out of these

depends -
plan on OC? SLI? CF? - Z87
if not - H87

The chipset won't make a huge difference in your performance! However, you should go with the Z87, that's the one I'm using and it's optimal for gaming.

They have different features. and support different CPU's. Mine craft and dayZ I would recommend either H87 (no OC) or Z87 (for OC) with a i5-4670/4670K

Have you considered building your own it will be cheaper.

Intel:
H81/H87 support 3rd/4th gen core i processors
Z87 4th gen core i processors with overclocking (K SKU's)
X79 used for 2011 socket CPU's core i extreme

AMD
970 FX 63XX and FX 83XX CPU's
A88X APU's (A10-7850K etc)
990FX high end Overclocking for AMD FX CPU's

OC - overclock - playing with your cpu to get better performance at the cost of increased power consumption and higher temperature.
