Just upgraded to this MoBo and new 4771 CPU. Everything works great with onboard graphics. But when I try to install one or both of my r7950 gpus the VGA LED and the 0096 error code show up and nothing will display on monitor from any port. I reset bios to pci main display and nothing. sure its not my 1000w psu. everything worked fine on old board. whats the dilio?!?! also can I even crossfire a msi r7950 tf with a sapphire r7950?? I have tried just puting one. please tell me its not the MoBo!! also reset cmos with no result.

Hello again :)

First with the easy one; yes, the two 7950s can be crossfired. The manufacturer doesn't matter when it comes to crossfire.

Now the trickier one. From what I've read about that particular problem, it may be a hardware issue (at least one report of something similar was fixed by a new board). There are a couple of things you can do to check though. First, if you haven't already, try updating the BIOS. Secondly, remove your CPU and carefully examine the motherboard socket for bent pins, discoloration, or something similar. That's an issue that's far more common than it should be (QA issues?). Thirdly, do you have any other PCIe components you could try in the slots, to see if the same issue occurs? Fourthly...

Fourthly, and I don't really think this would have any effect, but did you plug in the cable that provides supplemental power to the PCIe slots? The socket for the power cable is just above the top PCIe slot.

Those are all I can think of at the moment I'm afraid.
