hello all. i have a problem with my pc. cpu red led is on, mobo green light is on, all fans are on- no post. i just got new mobo today and does same thing. i tested cpu voltage at ATX on all wires and it has juice. new mobo was tested at store and posted with no problems. i tried swapping ram, tried one stick of ram, tried different gpu. no luck. i didnt test 8 pin CPU connector cause all wires are black so i dont know which ones to test. i narrowed down to PSU or CPU? i dont have spare cpu and/or PSU. All help would be greatly appriciated. well one thing i know there was little burn mark on old mobo on digi+ chip and smelled burned a little. i hope all info helps. and i tried reseat cpu few times and checked for bend pins.

The Digi+ is part of your power delivery for the CPU so it sounds reasonable to guess that whatever burned that chip burned your CPU.

Well being the sabertooth board and the CPU led is red It is a CPU issue. Burnt CPU, Bad PSU or bios does not support the CPU.

I agree with Spectre that the CPU is most likely fried and needs replacement. Be sure you are running Bios 1903 or newer on that board as I know for a fact 1903 and higher support All of AMD's new chips including the 9000 series as well.

It make very little since to jump to a 9000 series CPU as the only advantage it has is it comes with a AIO/CLC. with some time and OCing with a good cooler you can get very close to same performance for less money.

SLI 770's would need a good 850W or higher I believe both of these are tier 1 PSU top of the line.

the CX series is a really low end of the Corsair line and I don't recommend them personally. XFX and Seasonic are made by the same company and really good PSU's. Antec and Corsair except the CX series are very solid PSU's. THe CX series can be a good PSU but the reliability is garbage because of the cheaper parts used to make them. Hence the reason you can get a CX 500 W PSU for $50 or under.

for your setup I recommend a 850W PSU. The PSU I purchased was an excellent PSU for reliability actual out put and extremely low ripple. Then add a 7 year warranty you get an excellent PSU. At $169 a great purchase. Seasonic X850. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168...

Thats one of the reasons I suggested teh PSU I did as it has a 7 year warranty to it, Not to mention one of the top brands, good parts and low ripple for great OCing. Fully modular and flat wires to make cable management a easy thing.
