Hello all,

I am currently looking around for a laptop for college. I need to run things like AutoCAD, Revit, etc.
I have 3 choices:

1. Asus V550CA-SH51T-CB VivoBook
with Intel Core i5 1.9 GHz
8GB RAM, 750GB HD,
2GB Nvidia GT740M,
15.6in, touchscreen, Windows 8

2. Acer V5-572P
with Intel Core i7 2GHz
8 GB RAM, 500 GB HD,
HDMI Intel 4000 Graphics,
Windows 8, 15.6 in, touchscreen

3. Toshiba S50G-A-00G
with Intel Core i5 1.6 GHz
8 GB RAM, 750GB HD,
2 GB Nvidia GT740M,
Windows 8.1, 15.6in

The prices are all about the same, going from 750-850$ (Canadian dollars).

Can anyone tell which would be the better choice? The salesguy was telling me i7 is the best but I'm not 100% sure about the Acer (weight and design-wise) .

Thanks a lot!!

The i7 will be by far the best choice for auto CAD and the like assuming they are all same generation processor.

While the i7 is a better cpu it's only paired with intel 4000, which is an absolutely poop integrated gpu. I'd go for the Asus Vivobook. The 740M is a decent gpu, and while the i5 isn't as good as the i7 it's still a good cpu. So, Asus all the way for me.
