After installing CM Hyper 212 EVO on M5A99FX R2.0, computer will not post.

I recently installed a Hyper 212 EVO in my system for my 8320. After hooking everything up and trying to boot all that would happen is the fans will go and nothing else. The CPU light is a solid red. I hear no beeping sounds and have checked that everything is plugged in. I have reconfigured it a few times now fixing things I've seen people say online and nothing seems to work. I plan on borrowing an old compatible CPU from a friend if hooking up my old cooler doesn't work. Please help.

Is the back plate shorting out any traces on the rear of the motherboard?

I accidentally took off a protective sticker on the backplate but I reapplied it last time I put it all back together. Im taking out the mobo right now to see if it will work outside of the case.

Same problem outside the case. I think I fried the cpu or bent a pin.

It appears I also got a little MX 2 on the underside of the cpu, how do I clean that off?

You could try dissolving it with rubbing alcohol and then gently removing it with a cotton bud. As for the bent pin in your previous post, I have successfully resurrected a socket like that. I carefully put a hook in the point of a needle and then, with as much delicacy as I could manage, I teased the pin back into place. I have tried this three times on boards that were out of warranty: 2 out of 3 aint bad.
