Right now i have a i7 4770k and a evga 780 sc acx graphics card with corsair hx850 watt psu. evga has the step up program going on right now and i want to know if i should go ahead and step up to the 780 ti classified. I play games and i do lots of video editing and rendering. I play at 1080p. the reason for the upgrade is that so i can have the best card and hopefully it will be able to play games on high and 1080P for a long time. Do you guys think it would be worth the upgrade and how long do you think the 780 ti classified will be able to play games on high in 1080P. since everything is now going to 4k I think the cards playability in 1080P should last a very long time. I want to last 5 years. thanks guys let me know what you think.

PS(I wont be going anything higher than 1080P in the foreseeable future because I just bought this fancy 1080P ips monitor and spent all the this money on my rig. I just want something that will last a long while with this configuration because it wont change for a long time)

Depends how much you're paying for what performance improvement. Or are you happy with what you're getting now? What games and how much improvement will you get - fps, smoothness? Will you want to add more 780ti's to play 4k in the near future? Or wait till you see what cards come out for 4k in another few years? If you get more fps with a 780ti, will it be noticeable? eg would you notice the difference between 70 and 85 fps in a game?

You might as well keep the card. The 760/770 is the highest I would recommend for 1080p, so the 780 already handles it easily. The Ti wont increase your performance enough to make a difference at that resolution.
Spend the extra money on an SSD, that will make a noticeable difference.

How much is the upgrade from 780 to ti???

I don't think everything is going to 4k.
The consoles can only do 1080p and they drive the game market.

When it comes to pc gaming, 95% of us aren't willing to buy 3 titans just to get 60fps at 4k res
