I had a 3-year 600W generic PSU that recently died last Sunday and I'm pretty sure it was caused by sudden power surge ( actually the power went gone and back for just under a second). I knew it died at that moment because when i press the power button, it only blinks and the fans didn't turn. I was thinking that the gpu I have bought last February (Sapphire R9 270x Vapor-X) might be an additional factor for its death. With short budget, I bought another 600W generic PSU to replace it. Run it for more than 24hrs then shut it down as I was going to sleep. Few moments after, no good estimate because I was too sleepy, I heard an explosion. It took me few seconds to realize it was my PSU, I didn't want to believe it was the PSU because I knew the power was already cut. Not until I saw the smoke coming from it did I ran towards the outlet and plugged them out. I went back to the store today and they replaced me another one with different brand, though it still a generic type. Now I want to ask for advice to avoid another incident. Should I buy a higher wattage PSU? and the rated one? Here's the breakdown of the components that might be using power:

EMX-MCP61D3-iCAFE
Athlon II X2 260
Sapphire R9 270x Vapor-X
2 HDD SATA
2 DDR3

My other components are still working I think because I'm using it right now.

Admirable
It regulates the amount of electricity flowing out to what's plugged into it, basically, so your components will not get fried by a sudden surge of electricity from your wall due to maybe faulty wiring or something like that
