Is it safe to clean out my registry?

I was wondering which items are safe to clean, If any. Missing shared DLL, Unused file ext, ActiveX/COM, unused reg keys, App Paths issue, Obsolete software key, invalid firewall rule/reference? Please help out much thanks.

I do not recommend touching your registry at all unless you know what you are doing. I recommend at least performing a system restore save option prior to tampering with it. Why are you considering this? What are you trying to accomplish by cleaning out your registry? What prompted you to consider this?
