Gigabyte H61M-DS2
Intel i3 2120
Sapphire Radeon HD 7770
8GB DDR3 1333MHz unbranded RAM
500GB seagate HDD
700W alpine PSU

What do I upgrade first and what to?

Solution
CPU; get the i5 3570k $229.99, great CPU, best to get a Z77 Motherboard as well later on in case of an overclock. This CPU supports your current motherboard, incase you use this CPU for the meantime, it'll work.

GPU; Sapphire R9 270 Dual-X 2GB GDDR5 $179.99

Overall, just under budget and a great upgrade indeed.

Thank you for a very detailed response! One last question, if I got that CPU will I need another cooler other than the standard intel stock fan? I intend on play games such as battlefield and DayZ, or will the stock fan be okay considering I have 4 x Built-in 12cm Fans on my case?

the stock fan will be fine if you don't overclock, if you ever go for a Z77 motherboard and overclock, get a cpu cooler. If you never intend to overclock, get the i5 3570 and that'll save you $20. The stock fan will be fine for playing games, and it won't get to damaging temperatures.

That's great, I don't think I will overclock so that motherboard wont be necessary. What should I upgrade first? because I can't upgrade all at once, so if I upgrade my gpu now can I still run it with my i3? Also, will the unbranded RAM be fine?

the socket is staying the same, it's still LGA 1155, the ram will work fine, as it will be utilized in the same motherboard. If overclocking isn't going to be done, I'd get your CPU first, try getting a i5 3570t (best non-overclock i5), or if not get the i5 3570, forget the "k" as you aren't going to overclock. Then get your power supply and lastly the graphics card.
