Hello everybody,

I have been having some temp problems with my cpu. It idles at 45-65 and can go up to 90 while gaming. I have made like 3 threads on 3 different forums(including this one) but they didn't help much. I have read lots of review of the 760k and it seems overheat with the stock cooler is a common problem a lot of people have with this cpu.

So I decided to buy an aftermarket cpu cooler. The 212 evo is the one i am looking into, however, i have the adata xpg v2's wich are pretty big, the fan of the 212 evo will hit it IF i mount them facing the ram(it's 2mm too big). So i was wondering, is it possible for me to mount the fan facing the rear of the case? What are the cons?

Case: Corsair Carbide 200R Window
MoBo: GIGABYTE GA-F2A88XM-HD3
RAM: A-DATA 8GB XPG V2

Hope that's enough information.

Thanks

Yes you can do that, and run it in "pull". Slightly less performance, but you probably wont notice - still way better than the crap stock cooler.

Alternativly, look into the Phanteks TC-12DX. Costs a bit more, but its a better cooler and wont have issues with your ram (its been designed to not get in the way of tall ram heatsinks).

Hmkay, thanks

Hm the Phanteks cost a little too much for me, and it seems they are pretty expesive here in the Netherlands (around 75$).

So about the "pull" configuration, I have seen it a couple of times but how do I do it?
Also, I didnt take into account that my mobo has 1 system fan header so i can only use 1 case fan, i will buy a 4 pin to 2x3 pin adapter in the future tho. But what is better:
1. Have the exhaust fan working, this way, the 212 evo will pull the air through the heatsinc and the exhaust fan will take it and exhaust it out of the case(right?)
2. Or have the exhaust fan removed(till i get the adapter) and have the front fan working

Thank you for your help btw<3

Your mobo should have a CPU fan header - thats the one you want to use as it will control the speed of the fan based on the CPU temp.

To put it in a pull config, you just turn it around, so its sucking air through the heatsink rather than blowing through it.
