Changed out bright but damaged lcd display for display from same mfr with same model number and now screen won't light up. Probably my fault--should have gone slower and been more careful about disassembly.
Display is forming image (confirmed by shining flashlight thru back) and external monitor shows machine otherwise working normally. Old screen, while damaged, was bright until I intervened. Old damaged image is clear on old lcd when shining flashlight through back.
But question: no inverter board on screen bezel. Does anybody know where it is located or whether this model has one? No Sony repair manual or exploded parts view(s).
Note: I'm aware of polemics about users changing own screens, but am specifically interested in question of no inverter board in screen assembly on this particular machine.
