Hi,

I have a Samsung Galaxy Note 2, and i want to connect it to my PC via USB cable. I have tryed 2 different cables now. The first cable caused "USB device not recognized". Then I went to buy a new, fresh cable, and I asked, specificly "Will this make my note 2 be able to connect to my pc? Is this a data/power cable?" He said yes...

When I plug it in, it only gets power... It sure as hell is charging, but no DATA whatsoever is recognized. Nothing happends in Windows... I have tryed enable/disable USB debugging mode and so on... No success.

Look in your settings, you may have to dig around a bit. There should be a place to configure your USB mode (charge only, storage, etc).

You are right, you should be able to access the Note's internal storage. Kies, as suggested earlier, will definitely allow you to do that. It will also allow you to upgrade the firmware on the phone as well.

The phone is empty anyways... I dont understand how this could happend... A week ago, there was atleast a cable that gaved some life.. One cable caused "USB Device not recog" bla bla... But now, the same cable and it only charge the phone... Both of them are... :s

Sure. Try a reset. If you get it to work afterward, then connect with Kies and see if there is a firmware update available for your Note. If so, load it.

Good luck!

BTW, Kies also has a wireless mode that can be used to connect to devices via your wireless network.

Yah.. One cable says "USB device not recognized", and the other one dont do shit except charging the phone.
The cable that gives the error message, is a Samsung data cable.. Im out of ideas, really...

There aren't different data and power USB cables. They are one and the same.

But... How..? Woot..Because this cable, the other one, when I plug that into the PC and phone, all that happends is that the phone starts charging..

Most likely the issue is with the connector itself. I have a pile of cables for my office Blackberry and my personally owned Samsung devices. The Samsung USB port tends to be deeper (and have a slightly longer connector that inserts into the device) than the Blackberry USB port.

I do have a couple cables that will definitely NOT work properly with the Samsungs as a result of this factor.

I just accessed my old Galaxy S2, without a SIM (or microSD) installed and was able to access the phone's internal memory. You should be able to do the same if the Note is working properly. It could be a defective phone as well, just something to keep in mind.
