so i have this set up:
Sapphire r9 290 tri-x (4GB)
AMD fx8350
16 GB DDR3 RAM 1600
samsung evo 500GB ssd

but my assassin's creed 3 laggs like hell, is there anything i can do about it?

That is true but it will not cause the lag that he is getting. I run the game fine on my sons HD 7770 which is far inferior of a card in comparison to his card.

I have a 780 ti with a 3570k and I get about 62 fps @ 1440p maxed out.

Your son probably reduces the settings for it to be playable & the op probably tries to max out the game because he has a powerful card.

If he reduces the settings he should be okay unless he has a pirated copy however it could be a configuration problem or defective hardware.

If the problem related to configuration or defective hardware most likely other games would be effected as well.

Well in my personal rig I have 2 780s in SLI and a 4670K and I run it @ between 80-110 FPS in surround MAXED out. That card has only been out since the last quarter of last year and they gave that game away with the card from day one. It isn't very nice to accuse people of illegal activities, therefore I'm going to give him the benefit of the doubt.

Please point out where I made an accusation? Above is what I said from the previous post.



BTW AC3 is capped at 62 fps unless you modified the config file.
