Im considering "trading" my EVGA 660 for a AMD radeon 5970 since it's a faster card i do however realise it's old and consume quite allot of power i will only use it for about 8 months maybe a year and then get a maxwell but is it really better. and is it worth ?

UPDATE: I need it to play Titanfall with since my 660 is lagging abit in 1080P on high :)

Just keep the GTX 660, it has phys x and crap. There is little to no difference regarding speed except in AMD favored games, same goes with the GTX 660. So, imo it's not really worth it.

Go to this site to compare any graphics cards.(just the specs)

^Agreed. I don't think the difference is worthwhile, especially considering the added power usage and heat.

Those are all theoretical. GPUBoss gives real results.

if your psu can take the load get the radeon, it's way faster even if much older. (you should have at least a 750W good brand psu for it)

True it's a newer card, however i cant really use physx in games as fx Borderlands 2 simply because the card is too slow.

And my cpu can handle physx anyway =p

I have a Seasonic 750W silver certified, is that enough?

should be enough yes, however on second thought even if faster, the older radeon would be harder to get rid of when you chance graphics cards... so might be better to ignore the speed difference?

you have issues in any games you currently play? to try and justify the change this way? if yes, it's easy to just google scores for the 5970 in that particular title and decide if it's worth it.

I would not get much for my 660 eitherway, money is ofc a problem atm i dont have any choice but to "do the trade" if i want more speed.

I did seach for TItanfall benchmark for the AMD radeon 5970 but wasnt able to find any (i might just suck at seaching tho lol)

honestly the 660 is slightly faster and uses less power http://anandtech.com/bench/product/1062?vs=1039

that's half of a 5970 ;)  the 5970 was the top of the line from the 5000 series, it has 2 5870's like that in one card at slightly slower speeds

What a shame, sadly that's the problem of old Dual GPU cards (not enough support :c )

Thx for all your help tho :)
