Hi, I am currently in the middle of looking for a good LED to watch anime and media on.

Anime I watch are usually 10-bit, and 1080p. my GPU supports this.
My requirement is a 40-inch LED/LCD (whichever is good).

I scourged on the internet a bit, and found out about samsung un40f5000. I wanted to know, is samsung un40f5000 a 10-bit display? I have searched a lot but I could not find anything on it being 8-bit or 10-bit, anything. If someone has the knowledge on this, kindly share it with me.

But as suggested by the title of the post, this samsung LCD is not the only option I have. I am very much open to any suggestions by the helpful people here, as you people know tons more than I do. If you can suggest any good screen, kindly see the requirement:

  • 1080p
    40-inch
10-bit display (it would be good if it is 10-bit, but not a must).

Thank you for your kind help

we currently have a un50eh6000fxza version ts02. i believe this is the 50" model of the television you are looking at.

as with all new tvs... motionflow and 120hz mode need to be turned off for most people since it gives soap opera effect but with them off its really a pretty nice tv for the price.

one thing to keep in mind is the "version number" from what i have seen TS02 is the newest version and depending on what version you have the panels could be different. some of them were bad... some of them like the ts02 are good.

here is an alternative. this one states 10-bit

heres some advice on a few other models...

honestly though... is 10 bit that important to you?

if possible it would be best to view the panel before you buy it. if you dont then its a gamble.

Thanks a lot for the prompt reply. The Samsung screen I named is this :
But anyways, that does not matter. Your suggestion seems really really great too! I'm really grateful you suggested some nice links.
10-bit is not really important to me at all. I was thinking "if it has 10-bit panel, it might be good then". But I'm sure the difference is not too big, so I'm not too stubborn on that. i buy a screen once in a decade or so, so I wanted some future-proofing, so to say :)
Thanks for the link again.
