Missing Lan Drivers

Has anyone ever agreed to fix someone's computer without understanding the massive undertaking you were about to embark on? Well...it's happened to me, yet again.

My mother calls me up with computer issues, wants her system reformatted (that's all she tells me). So, abiding by her request, that's what I do. Since Windows 7 seems to be the norm nowadays, that's what I choose to install. Well little did I know, this computer is roughly 10 years old! At this point I'm just curious how she got her hands on it; it's supposed to be 'new'. I digress...

To the point! Because of outdated hardware, Windows 7 is not automatically detecting the drivers, like it would in most cases. Before I scrap the whole thing, I'd like to see if I can get my hands on the drivers and see if they work for Windows 7. Here's the thing, no modal number on the computer. Okay...sheesh, so I call ShuttleX (who's heard of these guys!?) support, they help me out (fantastic support by the way). So now, I have all of the drivers for the system...but yet again, another problem...according to their website, the LAN Controller should be "Broadcom Corporation Ethernet controller" which there is no record of in the device manager. I downloaded Speccy (A tool I've used in the past to compile a list of installed hardware) and nothing shows there either.

Now that my rant is through (and I do apologize) how on earth is someone supposed to find the LAN Driver to this PC? It's a ShuttleX - SB75G2

Any wisdom would be appreciated.

***Edit***
Using CPUZ, the motherboard manufacturer is not listed! It only listes a model number: FB71

Solution
When a device is not listed in device manager it could mean that it is not functioning . The chip itself might be dead .
But you can still try and find a broadcom driver for that chip. You should be able to get the details from the motherboard . The chip will be clearly marked with broadcom and the model number

Broadcoms website should link to an appropriate driver . If it wont install then assume that the chip is dead
