i am thinking of getting into PC gaming and i want to build a PC. i know that 8GB of RAM is rather expensive at the moment. In a game like battlefield 4 would there be a huge difference between 8GB and 4GB with a amd r9 270 and an amd 6300?
thank you for the help

It should be enough for many games, but most new modern games are requiring 8 GB of RAM as recommended requirements.

There wont be a huge difference, but what if your system is using much RAM and leaving enough memory for games? Windows 7 and Windows 8 themselves use 1.4 GBs of RAM, add to them all the running background programs + your Anti Virus.

Just buy another 4GB stick to benefit from RAM Dual-channeling.

Get one 4gb stick for now, which should get you playing most games

Yes, get one stick of 4GB RAM and then add another 4GB to it whenever you want. 4GB is not bad at all, and you might never use the whole 8GB.

I think you should upgrade because 4gb is good enough
