Cleaning my PC fan

I had one coolermaster fan that went really rough and it only was spinning once in a while. Manually it felt hard to spin it...so by mistake and lack of knowledge i used wd40 and ive read that i shoundt use it. The thing is it worked, the fan feels light again i still havent plug it in.


My question is, if i already used wd40 is there a way to drain that oil to change for another or i should just use the other oil in top of that one? and what kind of oil do i need? does 3 in 1 work?

As long as the wd40 doesn't leak onto the PC parts anywhere you're fine.
My advice is to go buy another fan. You can get decent ones for ~$10 and you wont have to worry about it again. Just measure the size of the fan and look to see if it's using 2 or 3 wired plugs. If it's a CPU fan then it's a 3 wired PWM fan.
