Hello community!

I am asking for advice from you wonderful people about a problem that I have recently encountered and cannot find any other information about. Firstly, my build:

  • - OS: Windows 8.1 x64 Pro
    - CPU: AMD FX-8350
    - Mobo: MSI 970A-G46
    - Memory: Patriot Viper 16GB (2 x 8GB)
    - SSD: Samsung 840 Series 120GB (contains OS installation)
    - HD: Toshiba 2.5TB
    - Video Card: MSI Radeon HD 7850 2GB
    - PSU: EVGA 500W 80 Plus Bronze
History
I built the PC in October 2013 with no issues since (also all components are under warranty). I have been mainly using this computer for work and gaming.

Problem History
I woke up this morning to check some posts on facebook and decided to watch a video. Upon watching the video, the browser crashed and reported that Shockwave had crashed. I figured that restarting the browser would be fine so I reopened the browser and decided to watch the same video again. It started off fine until I made it fullscreen and it immediately froze. I waited to see if it would unfreeze but it didn't. I used Ctrl+Alt+Del to initiate the program manager when nothing happened. I waited ~15 seconds, tried again and nothing happened. After ~30 seconds the BSOD appears with the following reason: DPC WATCHDOG VIOLATION (0x00000133).
For those of you who do not know what it is, you can read Here.
tl dr; When Windows is in an IRQ (Hardware Interrupt) state for more than 30 seconds, this happens.

Problem Description
Upon power up, power is distributed via PSU to all components but mobo doens't post. Nothing afterwards and no response to keyboard commands.

Attempted Diagnostics
After reading several threads and blog posts, I have done the following steps

  • 1. Attempted to boot with SSD disconnected
    2. Cleared on-board CMOS
    3. Booting with different RAM
I have not yet tried switching out the PSU or Video Card but I think that these are not the issues. I have no reason to believe that either of these components are damaged so the only option left is that the mobo is fried.

Direct Question to Community
Have you heard of a mobo getting fried by a BSOD (possibly relating to a system interrupt issue)?

Many thanks all!

Solution
Most likely it may caused by the MB, here is the info. http://www.overclockers.com/forums/showthread.php?t=733680 or https://spreadsheets.google.com/spreadsheet/pub?key=0AgN1D79Joo7tdE9xMUFlMEVWeFhuckJEVF9aMmtpUFE&gid=0
Because the MB has only 4+1 VRMs, it is not good for the fx8 series cpu, you can try use the small fans like in the 1st link, you can see those small fan near the blue fan in the picture. Or get other MB for your fx8350, like GA-970A-UD3P http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813128651 or ASUS M5A97 R2.0 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813131873

Aww damnit! I was even tossing up between that ASUS mobo when I was building but MSI said the G46 was okay in their documentation. I didn't even factor in the power phasing to my selection of mobo but I will when I buy my new one. Also, I don't think I can use those fans if a VRM is blown. Thanks so much for the answer!
